Video Game Invasion

This video is about the history of video games industry and the cool graphics and cutting edge technology. This video about people who invented that videogames and console. It is also a story about a group of unique individuals who started with nothing ,but ideas. Guys who came out of their garages and ended up as power players with multi billion industry. They revolutionized entertainment and tun themselves into rockstars. I’m too lazy to write type out the names of these inventers and the game consoles and the games they invented.  I think the first game console was atari.  It shows companies trying to out do each other.  It is not just about games it also about vision and obsession. It is about a whole generation grabbing the joystick and got hooked on video games. It is about games that have been blamed for kids being anti-social and violent. I’m too lazy watch the full videos. If somebody want to know more about this video they can watch it. I’ll will write a little bit of what I remember when I play these games and game consoles . I’m not sure what I thought about the video. I wasn’t much into video games when I was young. The reason why is my parents couldn’t afford to buy us these kinds of games.  I remember going to a friends house and playing the ping-pong game and I thought it was boring. I think I would’ve ask my parents to buy a console if I liked it, but I remember I didn’t ask for it. I think in the beginning of the 1980’s the is when I started playing the video games. We had a sega game console and I used to play sonic. I wasn’t really good at it. Then in the 1990’s we had nintendo and nintendo64 that’s when started to like playing the video games. I liked playing supermario and tetris these were my favorite games.

Media and Public Voice

I think it was two years ago that we had a teacher that taught media literacy as a subject. She started a website for our school. Her class helped her start it up.  She said that it was really difficult, because she have right resources to help with the class. Some of she needed was taken out from the computers. She only used powerpoint and publisher to use her class. I don’t know if the website is still there. This was only time media literacy was ever taught at our school. Here in my community we have a few guys that are using the media and the public voice. They are using the website YOUTUBE to upload the videos they made. These guys are out school and some of them didn’t graduate from high school. They are in their late teens. These guys taught themselves how to use the computer and how to upload their videos. They have a few videos on youtube. This shows that teenagers can do anything with the computer even though nobody helped them and they taught themselves how to podcast on the internet. Learning to use blogs, wikis, digital storytelling, podcasting, and video making is media of self-expression within a context of “public voice” should be introduced and evaluated in school curriculm, after school programs, and informal learning communties. If youth today are to become effective citizens in the emerging era of the public network of the computer. I think the Cree School Board should take a good look at media literacy education. This is our future generation is going. They could do a survey done on it and they could ask the students what they think about it. This could really help them in their learning. Media has really changed and it is impacting everyday aspect and experiences of our lives. Cree School Board should look at the needs and to take the responsibility for helping the students. They can master the skills and knowledge that they need to function in a hypermediated environment.
